Recent Events
Walnut Village future residents visited the Lawrence Welk Theatre in Escondido for I Love Piano, a celebration of the music and lyrics of Irving Berlin. The presentation follows the journey of a piano as it moves in and out of American lives from the turn of the century to the present. Along the way, the story comes to a vibrant heft with over sixty of Irving Berlin’s most beloved songs, including “Blue Skies,” “There’s No Business Like Show Business,” “Puttin’ on the Ritz,” “Cheek to Cheek,” “Always,” “How Deep is the Ocean,” “Anything You Can Do,” “God Bless America,” and “I Love a Piano."
Walnut Village future residents visited the Chinese Terra Cotta Soldiers exhibit at the Bowers Museum in Anaheim.

Walnut Village future residents visited the Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens for the opening of the Garden of Flowing Fragrance, the first Chinese Garden ever constructed at this renowned venue.

This December, Walnut Village future residents had plenty
to celebrate. With
their new homes opening in summer/fall 2009 it made for extra special festivities.

In January 2009, future Walnut Village residents visited the International
Printing Museum in Carson. The museum has one of the
world’s most significant
collections of antique printing machinery shown through working demonstrations
and theatre presentations. The tour included the history of books and printing
and great inventions and inventors that shaped the world of printing today
and an introduction to the inventions and legacy of Dr. Ben Franklin. Future
residents then lunched at nearby Alpine Village, fondly known as “The
Little City from the Alps.”
