People coming together in the spirit of community – that’s what Walnut Village is all about. It’s why we attract the sort of residents and staff who love to share their gifts with the world, and help make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.
People like Fritzi and Herb Baker, a couple who have some really big shoes to fill when it comes to helping others. As amateur clowns, the husband and wife team love performing for the Red Cross, The March of Dimes and the Crippled Children’s Relief Association.
Herb graduated from the Lancaster Clown Factory with a degree in funny, and the two are toying with the idea of starting their own clown college. Their goal is to make at least three people smile per day – an easy task for the couple even without the crazy wigs.
If you enjoy the rewards of helping others and volunteering your time, you’ll find plenty of opportunities at Walnut Village. We’re supported by
California Lutheran Homes and Community Services, a not-for-profit social ministry organization that features a Volunteer Auxiliary for those residents who wish to serve others both on campus or in the local community.
No matter how you choose to give of yourself, you can count on Walnut Village to help you help make the world a better place.
